US school cancels prom \'over lesbian date\' -LADY IN UK IN SHOCK ! ___________________: In Mississippi! I am Irish but living in the UK at moment, read the UK headlines lastnight and saw this disgraceful headline!! \'US school cancels prom \'over lesbian date\' A school board in the US state of Mississippi has cancelled a high school prom after a female student asked to attend with her girlfriend. The pic on the bbc news website of the girl involved - she is a lovely little thing! Im in shock in this day and age this is a petty issue, amongest other MAJOR issues taking place in the world. My message to the school is \'GET WITH THE PROGRAMME!!\' I am Irish, Catholic country and we have progressed immensely!! We are so more chilled out now over same sex couples.. hey girls and guys - come on over here for an easier life LOL:-) I feel sorry for the fact the Prom was off or is on hold. There are lots of same sex proms taking place here and everyones cool with it!! A girl in my school took her girlfriend and nothing was said. Im open to emails and would love to especially contact the girls involved as I will write a book and perhaps your chapter will be in it if you guys get intouch! ;-) Stand up to them!! Nothing wrong with this thing we call love!! Which everyone has an opportunity to explore/discover as long as no one is being harmed then leave them be!! -Keep the peace and let these innocent individuals live their life *** Its happening everywhere in the world!!
